RETAIL CRIME OPERATION

#VisibleLocalTrusted | Today, Sergeant Morris, PC Tyler and PC Barton from the Neighbourhood Policing Team joined Walsall based officers from West Midlands Police for a joint operation focusing on retail crime. 

The officers patrolled together around the town centre, Orbital Retail Park and McArthurGlen Retail Outlet before conducting patrols in and around Walsall town centre. 

The officers were able to arrest one male and gather intelligence in relation to other possible attempted shop thefts on the retail park.

It was a pleasure to speak to many shoppers and shop staff on what has been a very warm day indeed so far! 

Retail crime often occurs across police force boundaries so it was really useful to share intelligence between us concerning repeat theft offenders that target both of our retail stores and we're hoping to expand and continue these joint operations on a regular basis.
